Fruits and vegetables when consumed during the seasonal period not only be tastier than the off season ones but will also be more nutritious and healthy as well. Today it’s normal for us to see all types of fruits and vegetables available being 365 days of the year but it does not mean that the produce quality is the same throughout the seasons. Fruits and vegetables when picked, after they ripen naturally will always taste better. And will be rich in nutrients compared to the produce which is grown and picked before it is ripened. These Fruits which are grown in a complete different geographic location and have to travel a good amount of time to reach up to your local markets and are often being sprayed with chemicals to prevent them from ripening too quickly or to stay fresh. Also the demand in market of off season goods are giving way to higher amounts of wax coatings, preservatives and ripening agents, in order to make them look fresh and healthy. These pesticides will in turn have dangerous effects on our health.

Eating more of seasonal food is not part of any recent trend, if we look back to our ancestors who ideally did not have many choices available they were more dependent on the seasonal produces and not to mention their generation had less of health issues as compared to ours.
